Put On Your Dancin' Shoes Easel Card...

Good morning, fellow Crafters!  I can't believe it's time for another MayzyArt Challenge.  I am sure Mayzy had a hard time selecting the winners for the Silly Challenge so, I am excited to find out shortly.  Anyway, for our next Challenge, we want to see something "Fluffy" in your creations.  You may interpret it however you like.  Head on over to MayzyArt Challenge site to see the inspiration that your DT's have provided,  the rules that governed the Challenge and to link your projects.

Here's the Easel Card I made to hopefully inspire you.  I used MayzyArt's "Flamenco Dancer" and colored her with my ProMarker/Prismacolor markers, glittered the flower and shoes with Stickles (2 shades) and to add a fluffy touch to this card, I added some turquoise flocking on her fan.  I went with a 5.5-inch Kraft card base, gathered 2 DP's from Paper Studio and 1 DP from K & Company.  I die-cut a 4.5-inch scallop with my Cricut using Elegant Edges Cartridge, used an MS Circular cutter to cut the circle shape at 3.5-inch that will hold the DP triangles I have put together.  I die cut a Spellbinders label for my sentiment (computer generated) and got a couple sizes of brown satin ribbons to attach to the card and envelope.  I took one of my handmade Crochet flowers, placed a gold glass pearl in the center and adhered to the card.  If anyone wants to purchase my Crochet flowers, you can go to my Etsy Store (located at my sidebar) and select the colors you want out of the many I have available.  As you can see, they are wonderful embellishment for cards, pins, hair accessories and many more.  Okay, so to put the card together, I stitched all over for a polished look.  The sentiment in the message space of the card is from Fiskars and I added some Distress inking with Pumice Stone to a couple of panels for an aging effect.  I adhered several dewdrops in the card and envelope and walah (after several hours), this project is done...Let me know your thoughts. This Card is entered into the following Challenges:

1.    Going Buggy featuring "August Challenge-Girlie"
2.    The Pink Elephant featuring "Create your own Embellishment" (Made my own Crochet flower)

Last several weeks had been pretty hectic for me and to make a card at times means sacrificing some much needed sleep.  But in spite all that, I always have that joy upon completing a project.  That's how I know I am definitely a Cardmaker/Crafty person at heart and I know lots of you can identify.  The Lord Jesus has been my inspiration and I know that when it comes time to be with Him, I will be able to use the skills I acquired here on earth to the task He has prepared for me in His Kingdom. As always, to Him be the glory!

How Many Fingers Birthday Card...

It's another Monday and having such a lazy day here. The weekend has been busy for us so, took a little time before I was able to get this project ready for posting here.  Anyway, this is the Card I made for a 3-year old girl that had her birthday recently.  The beautiful image is from Mo Manning and the first time I saw it, I knew right away I wanted it for this little girl.  She resembles a lot of her physical characteristics so, I know I got to have it.  I used an A7 Kraft card base.  I colored the image with my ProMarker/Prismacolor markers, add some inking with Tim Holtz Walnut Stain Distress Ink, assembled several Prima flowers and added some metallic brads on them, applied some glitters (stickles) on all flowers including the flower in the image's shirt and  punched a few leaves from MS Punch and included several gems.  I also punched a Recollections Cupcake border in 2 colors for both outside and inside of the card.  The DP's are from my scraps (don't remember which company they belong), included a couple of doilies and stitched all over.  I was amazed at how adorable this project came to be after I added the sentiment from Inkadinkado. The image and the sentiment complimented each other well.  The stamps used for the envelope came from Studio G.  I got many compliments when I gave this to the little girl, from parents and visitors.  I am so happy!  So, what do you think, guys?  This Card is entered into the following Challenges:

At the end of the day, it feels good to have created something beautiful knowing that when I started, I don't really have much idea what the lay-out and theme was going to be.  All I can say is that my inspiration comes from having the Lord Jesus in my life.  When I am at a lost, I call unto Him and like a kid, ask for whatever it is I need.  Be it wisdom, understanding, creativity, clarity, direction...everything!  And He is faithful!  It's good to know I am not alone and Someone bigger than me is in control.  Have a blessed day and hope to hear from y'all!

Be Happy Superhero Birthday Card...

Hello there, wonderful Crafters!  Oh, I am so excited to share with you this project I made for my friend's son that just celebrated his 6th birthday recently.  He is into Batman a lot!  This is the second year he requested Batman stuff for gifts.  Last year, I made a Batman card out of Cricut die-cuts so, had to think of something different.  So, here's what I came up with.  I saw these Superhero Bundle from Melonheadz Illustrating a while back and I fell in love.  Been collecting her images but didn't get a chance to make a project out of them until today.  Aren't they the cutest?  They're fun to color too...Out of 10 Superhero images, I had to select 4 to fit into the A7 Kraft card base and of course, I had to highlight Batman.  I did this by popping him up among the rest.  I colored them using my ProMarker/Prismacolor markers, added some ribbon by weaving it to the border I punched from Fiskars, die-cut a shape using my Nesties, used some black brads and stitched all over.  I selected 3 DP's that are similarly designed yet with different colors, aged a panel with Pumice Stone Distress ink, stamped the sentiments and colored balloon image, all from Printworks.  I think it came out pretty cool!  So, what do you think, guys?  This Card is entered into the following Challenges:

1.   One Stitch at a Time featuring "Anything Goes"
2.   Allsorts featuring "Going Around in Circles"

BE HAPPY SUPERHERO BIRTHDAY CARD WITH ENVELOPE:

Yay, I am getting caught up with making cards again!  Last 2 weeks, there were lots of things that needed our attention that it's hard to find a time to make anything.  We still have a bit of that this week but I'm determined to get some projects done especially that another little girl, a daughter of my friend, is going to celebrate her birthday this weekend.  Got to make something for her and I'll show y'all when I get done.  So, with every situation in life, I simply put my trust in Jesus for He always see us through!  One time, I read a message from a fortune cookie (Nope, I am not in anyway a believer in fortune stuff) but I like what is said:  "Faith is seeing the entire staircase when all you can see is a step."  That is exactly how I choose to face each day.  I serve an awesome God!

Happy Birthday Ole' Pal Card...

Hi there...I'm back!  It's been 2 weeks and nope, I didn't go on vacation!  It's just the usual things in life that piled up on me.  But there's no stopping me from posting this Card I made for a friend that celebrated his birthday recently.  Well, he's not exactly that old but since he would not reveal his age, I decided to make a humorous card.  Here, I used Gus, one of the funny characters from Bugaboo Stamps.  Colored him with my ProMarker and Prismacolor markers.  This was both a rush project and for a male so, the pressure was on on how the lay-out was going to be.  So, I decided to go for Embossing and inking.  I love ribbons, glitters, flowers and such pretty nice things but for a male card, not ideal so, I have to keep it as simple as I can but with a character.  I used the folders from Cuttlebug (polkadots) and Paper Studio (leaves/vine).  I also added a border and the scallop punched from EK Success. The sentiment is from Changeables and I inked the card all over with Walnut Stain from Tim Holtz.  So, what do you think fellas? This Card is entered into the following Challenges:

1.   Sassy Cheryl's featuring "All About the Boys"
2.   Inspire Me Fridays featuring "Anything Goes"
3.   Jackson's Digital Images featuring"Anything Goes"
